Meet The Team

Shauna S Haylock, is from the picturesque Cayman Islands. She is a strong advocate for children, especially advocating that all have access to the highest quality care and education from birth. She has 30 years experience and a PGDEducation with her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. She also  holds a Montessori Diploma from North American Montessori Center (NAMC) She serves as the Administrator and Sunday School Superintendent of her Church, and served as Principal of Wesleyan Christian Academy for three years, Founder and Director of Shauna’s Early World of Learning Centre 1992-2015, Founding Member and a Former President of The Cayman Islands Early Childhood Association.

Paige is from the beautiful sunny Whitsundays which is in Northern Queensland,Australia. She developed an interest in early childhood development quite young which lead her to study early childhood education in high school. Paige first started her Montessori journey in 2014 and began in a Toddler program. She was in complete awe watching children at such a young age be self-sufficient and independent learners which lead her to learn more about the Montessori Philosophy. She was a toddler guide for 2 years before she transitioned into a Casa environment. Paige moved to the Cayman Islands in 2018 and has been working as a Casa Guide for the past 7 years on island. She has her Montessori Diploma from North American Montessori Center (NAMC) and has 10 years of experience working with children in a Montessori environment.

Rosalee, affectionately known as Mrs. Rosie, is a passionate Early Childhood Educator from Lacovia, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. With over 25 years of experience in education, including 14 years as the proprietor of her own Early Childhood and Preparatory School, she brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and dedication to her classroom.

She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, and a Montessori Diploma (3–6 years) from the North American Montessori Center (NAMC).

Mrs. Rosie believes children thrive when they feel seen, valued, and respected. Her nurturing and family-centred approach creates a warm environment where children feel safe to explore, express themselves, and grow into confident, capable learners.

After six years of teaching in the Cayman Islands, she continues to be inspired by the diversity of the community and the unique gifts each child brings.Mrs. Rosie is not only an inspiring educator but also a devoted mother of two, with a natural gift for helping young children reach their fullest potential.

Originally from a small village near Pamplona, Spain, Ms, Silvia has called the Cayman Islands home for the past five years. She holds a degree in Primary Education and discovered her passion for Montessori education while living in Australia. She later moved to Toronto, where she completed her Casa Teacher training at the Foundation for Montessori Education.

With experience working across several countries, she brings a rich international perspective to the classroom. She is passionate about creating an environment where children are respected as individuals and encouraged to develop confidence, independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys scuba diving, travelling, discovering new cultures, and making the most of island life. She is delighted to be part of Montessori West and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with children and families.

Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, Daniela, affectionately known as Ms. Dani, has called the Cayman Islands home for the past 11 years. From a young age, she knew she wanted to work with children and was inspired by the teachers who made her own school experience so joyful.

Daniela holds a double major in Pedagogy and Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Inclusive Education, from Pamplona, Spain. Her passion for Montessori education led her to earn her AMI Montessori Assistant accreditation for ages 0–3 and 3–6.

As she enters her second year at Montessori West, Daniela is passionate about creating a caring, engaging environment where children are encouraged to develop curiosity, independence, responsibility, and a strong sense of community.

In addition to her experience and training, Ms. Dani is a native Spanish speaker, bringing the gift of a second language to our Toddler Community.

Originally from Namibia, Lunette, affectionately known as Lulu, has called the Cayman Islands home for almost five years. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Montessori Diploma, with nearly 14 years of experience as a Montessori educator in both Casa and Toddler environments.

Lulu has a special passion for working with our youngest learners and loves watching children develop confidence, independence, and a growing sense of curiosity within their environment. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with children and families and supporting them throughout their learning journey.

Alongside her work at Montessori West, Lulu is completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology and will undertake her practicum this school year.

Lulu is excited for the year ahead and looks forward to learning, growing, and creating wonderful memories with the Montessori West community.

Originally from Nigeria, Mrs. Mosope, affectionately known as Ms. Mo, brings over six years of experience working with young children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies and a postgraduate degree in Education, along with MACTE-accredited Montessori training.

Ms. Mo is passionate about creating a warm and nurturing environment where children feel supported as they develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Originally from India, Mrs. Manju has called the Cayman Islands home for the past three years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and a Professional Graduate Diploma in Montessori Methodology (PGDMM).

After transitioning from healthcare into education, Manju discovered a deep passion for nurturing young children. With experience working with children from 18 months to 5 years, she embraces a calm, respectful, and nurturing approach that encourages independence, confidence, and curiosity.

Manju is passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development and believes that creating a sense of inner harmony is an important part of learning.

Originally from Colombia, Shelyn Ortega brings experience working with children and a genuine passion for supporting their growth and development. Her work with children has helped her develop a strong foundation of empathy, respect, and care.

She has studied Montessori education and is passionate about fostering independence, respect, and a love of learning. She enjoys creating a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore.

Originally from the Philippines, Cherryl Gestoso is a caring and dedicated classroom assistant who has a genuine passion for working with young children. She loves watching children learn, grow, and develop their own unique personalities.

Cherryl has been part of the Montessori West community for almost two years and has developed an even deeper appreciation for the joy and reward of working with children. She enjoys guiding and supporting children while creating a safe, caring, and positive environment where they feel encouraged to learn and grow.
